Position Overview

Beitzel Corporation is excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for motivated individuals to begin a rewarding career in the skilled trades through our Construction Craft Apprenticeship Program. This full-time, entry-level position is designed for candidates who are eager to work alongside experienced tradespeople and develop a wide range of hands-on skills in real-world environments. Our apprenticeship is a 2-year accredited program recognized by the State of Maryland, providing structured, in-house instruction taught by our subject matter experts.

 

As a Construction Craft Apprentice, you will gain valuable experience by supporting a wide range of construction and mechanical trades across various industrial job sites. Projects may include work in industries such as construction, manufacturing, power generation, oil and gas, renewable energy (wind and solar), aggregates, commercial, and more. This role involves assisting with installations, maintenance, and repairs while learning to operate safely and efficiently within different industrial settings.

 

Ideal candidates will have a mechanical aptitude, a strong interest in the trades, and a willingness to learn and grow. While basic knowledge of tools and construction practices is helpful, it is not required—we provide the training you need to succeed. This position does require a flexible schedule, as it may involve extensive travel, out-of-town assignments, and the ability to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and potential night shifts.

What You'll Do

  • Provide general labor for various construction, industrial and mechanical projects
  • Perform concrete work, rebar, masonry, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical, rigging, excavation, ditching, trenching, and general labor as required
  • Assist with structural steel installation
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
  • Learn to operate basic machinery such as a man-lift, scissor lift, fork-lift, etc.
  • Assist with aligning machines and equipment, using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, plumb bobs, etc.

 

Working Conditions

  • Sit, talk, hear, read, and write
  • Regularly walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Perform duties on-site and underground at industrial locations
  • Work in extreme temperature conditions and environments
  • Perform work at a variety of heights

What You'll Bring

  • 0-2 years of relevant mechanical, construction, or solar installation experience preferred
  • Possesses a mechanical aptitude with prior experience in a high school trades program and/or a vocational program
  • Valid driver’s license preferred
  • Experience using basic hand and power tools
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure
  • Ability or willingness to participate in the required coursework for the apprenticeship program

Additional Eligibility Qualifications
