Position Overview

Beitzel Corporation is now accepting applications for a full-time Sr. Project Manager - Civil. The Sr. Project Manager will be responsible for the initiation, implementation and management of civil business services, initiatives, and opportunities within the Field Services Division.  The Sr. Project Manager is also responsible for supporting customer service and growth among the Field Services divisions. The Sr. Project Manager will manage processes, personnel, and resources to provide services, products and/or deliverables that are on-time, on-budget and that meet or exceed customer expectations.  This position requires the knowledge, experience, licenses, and ability to work with new and/or developed customers to determine business and operational needs and opportunities for Beitzel Corporation and to provide continuous improvements and efficiencies for its customers.  He or she and must be flexible and willing to work extended hours as needed.

 

The Sr. Project Manager will report to the Group Manager – Civil Services and will work primarily out of the Beitzel Corporate location.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the planning and implementation of customer projects and initiatives
  • Provide development coordination, and oversight of project scope, goals, scheduling, budgets, risk management and resource management 
  • Develop project plans, timelines, material, and labor requirements 
  • Serve as the primary contact for assigned customers and cultivate customer relations and identify sales opportunities
  • Manage and direct project team members through effective coaching and project coordination
  • Provide management and fiscal reporting and updates as required
  • Identify potential problems and provide effective solutions and problem-resolution
  • Maintain quality and safety standards without exception
  • Coordinate and assist other trades and disciplines throughout the company as needed
  • Educate, mentor, and train on-site personnel to improve the overall knowledge and capability of operations personnel
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Group Manager
  • Perform final bid reviews when required
  • Participate in post project reviews to identify future areas for project improvement
  • Bid, manage, and direct large and complex excavation projects typically in excess of $500,000
  • Manage on-site operations effectively and efficiently as necessary
  • Serve as an expert advisor and mentor for project management personnel and job-site leadership with regard to bidding, operations, problem identification and resolution, project execution, etc.

What You'll Bring

  • 10+ years of current management experience in the Industrial Civil Industry is preferred
  • Degree or Certification in an civil engineering, industrial construction discipline, or Business Administration required or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of civil field experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of safety and construction regulations
  • Strong mechanical and an expert level of excavation techniques and knowledge preferred
  • Must possess the knowledge, experience, and ability to make sound business decisions that result in value to the customer and growth for the company
  • Proficient in organizational skills with high level of attention to detail
  • Skillful in imparting information
  • Aptitude for leadership and mentoring
  • Demonstrated ability to excel under pressure and meet budget and deadlines
  • Proficient with computers and software to include Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) and to represent Beitzel Corporation in a professional, competent, and courteous manner
  • Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams to accomplish common goals
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision or review
  • Must be able to effectively adapt to ever-changing and ever-emerging customer needs
  • Ability to definitively trouble-shoot excavating obstacles and manage and direct appropriate corrective action plans
