Position Overview

The general role of the Electrical Field Technician – Electrical Services is to perform general labor in potentially all areas of the Field Services division. The work may take place in various industries to include but not limited to: Oil & Gas, Concrete, Electrical, Energy, etc.

 

This individual will be mechanically inclined, must become proficient with the products and services offered by Beitzel Corporation and must be flexible and willing to work extended hours as needed to include weekends, holidays, and occasional night shifts or call-out work.  There may be occasional travel required, to include overnight stays.

What You'll Do

  • Assist Electricians and Electrical Foreman with installing and maintaining construction and electrical related projects to include installing lights, running wires and conduit, digging, small concrete pours, erecting metal buildings, etc.
  • Perform work utilizing various small equipment to include excavator, telehandler, skid steer, manlift, etc.
  • Assist with the installation of utility poles
  • Recognize and utilize hand tools, industrial power tools, and electrical equipment safely and effectively
  • Stage tools and materials and assist as required
  • Assist with paperwork and documentation to ensure accurate record keeping, billing, and inventory
  • Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles in a professional and workman-like manner
  • Assist other trades to include, but not be limited to welding, pipe fitting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical, rigging, excavation, ditching, trenching, insulating, fabricating

Working Conditions

  • Sit, talk, hear, read, and write
  • Walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms
  • Kneel, stoop, bend, squat, and climb a ladder
  • Work at heights up to 40 ft
  • Lift and/or move up to 75 pounds unassisted
  • Work in confined spaces
  • Work extended hours and potential shift work
  • Work indoors and outdoors in all types of weather

What You'll Bring

  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED Preferred
  • 2+ years’ experience with general construction or electrical preferred
  • Candidates with trade school electrical certifications are encouraged to apply
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Ability to recognize and safely utilize hand and small power tools
  • Ability to operate small equipment such as a mini excavator, manlift, etc.
  • Ability to read a tape measure
  • Comfortable working at heights (such as from a bucket truck)
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal direction
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Must be dependable, trustworthy, and possess a positive and productive attitude
  • Must be able to work well with co-workers and customers
