Beitzel Corporation is now accepting applications for (1) full-time Field Laborer - Millwright. The Field Laborer - Millwright will provide physical labor and general labor to a wide range of construction trades through various construction, mechanical and industrial projects. This is considered a semi-skilled position that requires a mechanical knowledge and aptitude, along with a basic knowledge of construction trades. Projects may include, but not be limited to the following industries and facilities:  Construction, Manufacturing, Power Plants, Commercial, Aggregate, Oil and Gas, Factories, Production Plants, Coal, Solar, and Wind Energy, etc. This position will require a flexible schedule with extensive travel and out-of-town work and the willingness to work extended hours to include weekends, holidays, evenings and possible night shift.  

The Field Laborer - Millwright will report to the Millwright Services Group Manager and will work primarily out of the Beitzel Corporate location.

• Provide physical labor and general labor to construction trades and to various construction, industrial and mechanical projects
• Perform concrete work, rebar, masonry, welding, pipefitting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical, rigging, excavation, ditching, trenching and general labor as required
• Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
• Provide detailed paperwork, and documentation to ensure accurate record keeping, billing and inventory
• Maintain company tools, equipment and vehicles in a professional and workman-like manner
• Follow proper safety and incident reporting procedures
• In addition, may perform all duties of General Laborer, Skilled Laborer, and Carpenter, and possibly Electrician
• Provide troubleshooting to follow a problem to the source and solve the issue
• Aid other field personnel as needed
• Provide daily operations updates to Operations Management
• Be willing to work on the off hitch and demonstrate commitment to the job
• Other duties as assigned

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• A minimum of (2-3) years of Laborer experience or equivalent/relevant education and experience preferred
• Comprehensive knowledge of Industrial Construction Services is preferred
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations accurately. Practical knowledge of office procedures and customer relations
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Skill in dealing with the public in a manner which will facilitate any constructive problem solving possible
• Ability to work under stress and handle stressful situations. Ability to meet deadlines
• This position is subject to the Beitzel Corporation Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy which includes: pre-employment testing, post-accident testing, reasonable suspicion testing, return to duty testing, and follow-up testing

Working Conditions

• Walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach and lift; climb ladders and stairs; crawl; kneel
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds unassisted
• Must be safety and customer-focused, without exception
• Required safety equipment: Steel toe and/or metatarsal boots, protective eye wear, gloves, hard hat, and hearing protection
