Beitzel Corporation is now accepting applications for (1) full-time Mechanical Solar Foreman.  The Mechanical Solar Foreman will provide direction, oversight and general labor to solar panel system projects, along with various other construction, mechanical and industrial projects.  This position requires mechanical knowledge and aptitude, along with a basic knowledge of industrial mechanical and electrical practices. Other projects may involve, but not be limited to the following industries: Construction, Manufacturing, Power Plants, Commercial, Aggregate, Oil and Gas, Factories, Production Plants, Coal, Wind Energy, etc. 

 

The Mechanical Solar Foreman will require a flexible schedule with extensive travel and out-of-town work.  Candidates must be willing to work extended hours to include: weekends, holidays, evenings and possible night shift.   Areas of operations include, but are not limited to: MD, VA, PA, WV, and OH. The Mechanical Solar Foreman will be assigned to the Solar Services Group of the Beitzel Corporation Field Services Division.

Responsibilities

  • Install mechanical components of a solar energy system
  • Verify job components prepared for a specific job 
  • Layout and construct solar modules/arrays and mounting hardware
  • Mechanical/structural mounting of racking, modules and electrical equipment
  • Electrical wiring of solar array/system (AC and DC)
  • Familiarity working at heights (100% tie-off)
  • Provide communication with Project Managers to ensure work is performed according to specifications
  • Communicating equipment and supply needs to the Laborers as well as the Operations Managers
  • Leading jobs in the field and assisting with supervision of daily operations with relation to the job
  • Preparing T&M tickets, receipts, and other paper work as required by the job
  • Answering calls and questions related to the job, other co-vendors and from other Beitzel employees
  • Responding in a timely manner to customer service needs
  • Providing physical labor and general labor to trades and to various construction and industrial projects
  • Complete appropriate forms, reports and other required paperwork
  • Analyze project requirements and perform to meet deadlines
  • Provide technical support and on-site troubleshooting and repair for customers
  • Operate machinery such as but not limited to: forklifts, man-lifts, excavators, and dozers
  • Filling out daily JSA and performing safe work habits and reinforcing safety to all team members
  • Responding to phone calls and texts after hours and on weekends within a timely manner
  • Maintain a clean and organized jobsite and assist in site preparation and clean up
  • Maintain company tools and vehicle in excellent condition

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license required
  • 2+ years of construction supervisory experience with all areas of solar panels and solar systems installation preferred
  • Skilled equipment operator experience  (pile driver/excavator)
  • OSHA 10 required, OSHA 30 preferred
  • Ability to efficiently organize and plan work tasks to meet company goals
  • Ability to read or follow drawings, blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine installation procedures
  • Critical thinking with exceptional problem-solving skills, able to work independently and in team environments
  • Proactive, resourceful and highly motivated with good communication skills and ability to work in high output environment
  • Ability to maintain professionalism while interacting with customers, with an aptitude to answer technical questions in a simplified manner
  • Able to work a flexible schedule and adjust to changing business needs including possible emergency call-out, extended hours and out-of-town and overnight work
  • Able to work in extreme environments (heat, snow, rain, wind, etc.)
  • Willing to participate in the company’s required background and drug screening process

 

Working Conditions 

  • Walk / use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls / reach with hands and arms / climb ladders and stairs / crawl / kneel
  • Sit/stand for extended periods of time
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Perform duties on-site and underground at industrial locations
  • Wear required safety equipment defined by customer regulations or Pillar’s Safety Policy Guidelines
  • Be safety and customer-focused, without exception

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

This position requires the completion of a thorough background and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening. In accordance with The Company’s Drug and Alcohol policy, employees are required to participate in random, post-accident and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing as requested.
