Beitzel Corporation is an Industrial Construction and Service Company with nearly 50 years of experience in the Energy, Mining, Industrial Construction, Aggregate, and Renewables Industries. The Corporate Headquarters are located in Grantsville, MD with several offices throughout the country.

Beitzel Corporation is now accepting applications for (1) full-time Quality Control Inspector. The Quality Control Inspector will ensure quality control and quality assurance of the manufacture, fabrication, and repair of products consistent with the established AISC Quality Standards and/or ASME Quality Standards and customer requirements.  The Quality Control Inspector must develop and maintain strong technical knowledge of product lines and industry codes, including ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes and AWS Structure Welding Codes, Machining Inspection, Paint Inspection, and documentation. 

This individual will have a thorough understanding of all aspects of industrial fabrication and must be proficient with the products and services offered by Beitzel Corporation and must be flexible and willing to work extended hours as needed. The Quality Control Inspector will report to the Quality Control Manager and will work in both Beitzel Fabrication and Machine Shop locations.

• Inspecting work for conformance to quality standards, code, customer requirements, etc.
• monitoring conformance to procedures
• Providing technical support to customers, project managers, engineering, manufacturing, and others as needed in all areas relating to quality
• Communicating personnel, equipment, supply, and scheduling needs to the Fabrication and Machining Division Manager
• Communicating Quality issues and concerns with the Quality Control Manager
• Maintaining quality credentials including: ASME – U, S, and PP Stamps; NBIC – R-Stamp; AWS – D1.1 Qualifications; AISC – Structural Fabrication
• Completing shop and field inspections to insure conformance to industry and customer specifications. This may include visits to manufacturing partners, suppliers, and customers
• Identifying and implementing manufacturing and design improvements
• Managing and resolving non-conformance and following-up on corrective and preventative actions.
• Completing Code required documentation of fabrications, repairs, and alterations to include weld procedures, material tracking, non-destructive testing, customer specifications, inspection processes, etc.
• Control and maintenance of the Quality Control Manual and company procedures
• Filing required documents and qualifications with the appropriate local jurisdiction
• Maintaining welder qualification records
• Creating and maintaining inspection records as required by various codes

• High school diploma or equal and/or 3 or more years of Quality Control experience
• Must be a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or Certified Associate Weld Inspector (CAWI) by the American Welding Society
• Knowledge of Machining techniques.
• Knowledge of Industrial Painting techniques
• Knowledge of American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and American Welding Society (AWS) Codes
• Must exhibit a high-level of professionalism, integrity, and be willing and able to maintain a positive and professional demeanor in representing Beitzel Corporation, without exception
• Must be able to read and interpret customer specifications and advise the management team on quality capabilities based on the specifications
• Knowledge of personal computers and software packages including specific knowledge of AutoCAD, Weld Pro-Write and MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Ability to work under stress and multi-task to meet multiple deadlines

• Must pass an annual visual acuity exam to include color differential perception.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds
• Must be willing and able to work a flexible and extended schedule with overtime
• Must be safety and customer-focused, without exception
• Required safety equipment:  Steel toe and/or metatarsal shoes, protective eye wear, hard hat, and hearing protection
