Beitzel Corporation is now accepting applications for a part-time variable hour Field Safety Representative.  The Field Safety Representative will be responsible for encouraging and facilitating the safe practices of Field Service personnel at various Beitzel Corporation's job locations. This position is travel-based and will require a flexible schedule that will include extended work hours, along with some weekend and emergency call-out work. The successful candidate will possess a required safety qualifications as outlined below.


The Field Safety Representative will report to the Manager of Health & Safety and will work out of the Beitzel Corporate Offices located in Grantsville, Maryland.


  • Inspect job sites to ensure that equipment is set up, utilized and maintained in a safe and compliant manner. The position will require travel and overnight stays at the location of the job site.
  • Document and report company / employee safety practices
  • Make recommendations and suggestions to employees based on, company, client and/or compliance requirements
  • Collect data concerning incidents, accidents, and near misses and reporting findings to the Director of Compliance
  • Encourage employees to perform work safely and compliantly utilizing JSA’s (Job Safety Analysis) and other planning programs
  • Conduct rotating field inspections at job sites


  • Must possess one of the following:
    • Bachelor’s degree in safety or related technical field with a minimum of 5 years of project experience in a construction safety role as a titled safety professional;

    • 5 years’ minimum experience of project in a construction safety role as a titled safety professional and completion of the OSHA 500 Training Course; or

    • CHST designation with a minimum of four years in a construction safety role as a titled safety professional.

  • Strong knowledge of drug and alcohol testing processes
  • Strong knowledge of DOT, OSHA, MSHA and other safety and compliance regulations
  • Practical knowledge of office procedures and customer relations
  • Working knowledge of personal computers and software packages including specific knowledge of MS Outlook, Word and Excel and Power Point
  • Ability to work under stress and handle stressful situations. Ability to meet deadlines
  • Must maintain certifications relative to the Safety and Compliance requirements of Beitzel Corporation and its various clients

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  1. Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment
  2. This position requires the completion of a thorough background check including employment and education verification, SSN eVerify, employment references, and pre-employment drug screening. In accordance with our Organization’s Drug and Alcohol policy employees are required to participate in random, post-accident and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing.
