Beitzel Corporation is now accepting applications for (1) full-time Solutions Engineer / Technical Sales.  The Solutions Engineer / Technical Sales will be responsible for soliciting and creating solutions for Beitzel Corporation's industrial clients. Additionally, this position will require a solid understanding of the sales process and possess the ability to prospect, develop opportunities and close sales. This position will require a flexible schedule that will include extended work hours, travel, along with some weekend and emergency call-out work. The successful candidate will possess a degree in an industrial related field of study, as well as technical sales experience.


The Solutions Engineer / Technical Sales will report to Beitzel Corporation’s Fabrication & Machining Management Group.  This positon will work out of the Beitzel Fab Shop located in Bittinger, Maryland.  


  • Consult with customers to determine customer needs, and in response, create technical solutions
  • Acts as an advisor to the customer while providing sales support via phone, email or site visit to customer’s location
  • Present and communicate technical solutions which meet or exceed the specifications
  • Cultivates existing customer relationships and seeks to establish new business opportunities
  • Works with project managers, group service managers and sales to develop and help engineer new products to meet customer needs
  • Submit all necessary paperwork into company and customers representatives in a timely manner
  • Ensure compliance with Beitzel Corporation and Customer policies & procedures
  • Gathering customer feedback on products, technologies and what customer and market needs are, and giving this feedback to management, marketing, sales and engineering
  • Create solutions that are appropriate for the size and complexity of job
  • Perform site visits and inspections to identify potential business opportunities
  • Attend appropriate events (manufacturer training, conferences, trade shows, etc.)
  • Keep Management team up to date on sales status/progress 


  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or industry related technical field with a minimum of (5) years of large project experience in manufacturing, and or production is preferred
  • A minimum of (5) years of large project experience in construction environment is preferred
  • A candidate with industry contacts or relationships is preferred
  • 2+ years technical sales experience (or equivalent)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage and prioritize concurrent technical support demands
  • Ability to work independently with minimal management supervision

  • Perform duties on-site and underground at industrial locations.
  • Required to wear safety equipment: as per MSHA requirements including but not limited steel toed and/or metatarsal shoes, hard hat, lanyard, fire retardant, protective eye wear, etc.

  1. Must possess a valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment
  2.
