Beitzel Corporation is now accepting applications for (1) full-time Shop Equipment Operator.  The Shop Equipment Operator will operate various pieces of material processing equipment which include (but are not limited to): CNC Press Brake, Manual Press Brake, Hydraulic Shear, CNC Laser, CNC Plasma Table, CNC Python, Vertical Band Saw, Horizonal Band Saw, CNC Band Saw, Tiger Stop, Iron Worker and Plate Roll.

This individual will have a thorough understanding of all aspects of industrial fabrication and must be proficient with the products and services offered by Beitzel Corporation and must be flexible and willing to work extended hours as needed. The Shop Equipment Operator will report to the Shop Foreman and will work primarily out of both Beitzel F&M Shop locations in Bittinger and Grantsville, MD.


  • Monitor and assist plant operations in accordance with company policies and 
    plant standard operating procedures 
  • Perform any general work or other assignments necessary to ensure the safe 
    clean and efficient shop operations
  • Safe operation of forklift, skid-steer, manlift, telehandlers, overhead crane, etc.
  • Help maintain a clean and functional work area
  • Assist in cleaning and maintenance of shop tools and equipment
  • Clean, maintain, and inspect all equipment and tools for longevity of use
  • Assists with organizing materials and supplies for jobs
  • Communicates and works effectively with the Foreman and shop personnel to achieve project goals


  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • A minimum of (3-5) years of Equipment Operation experience or equivalent/relevant education and experience preferred
  • Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in an industrial shop setting
  • Follow verbal and written instruction
  • Mechanical aptitude is a plus
  • Able to perform multiple tasks at once and per day
  • Ability to work under stress and handle stressful situations
  • Ability to meet deadlines

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to:

  1. Regularly walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects and turn tools; reach and extend hands and arms; crawl, kneel and lay
  2. The employee will frequent lift, handle and maneuver parts and tools and occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds unassisted
  3. Must be safety and customer-focused, without exception
  4. Required safety equipment: Steel toe and/or metatarsal shoes, protective eye wear, hard hat, hearing protection, protective goggles, masks, face shields, welding gloves, etc.
  5. Work outside in harsh weather conditions


Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  1. Must possess a valid state driver’s license prior to employment
  2. This position requires the completion of a thorough background check including driving, employment and education verification, SSN eVerify, employment references, and pre-employment drug screening.
