Beitzel Corporation is now accepting applications for (1) full-time GibbsCAM Programmer/Operator. The GibbsCAM Programmer/Operator will utilize various CNC mills and lathes and will be responsible for the programming, of CNC Machining Equipment in tight tolerances. This position must maintain a clean and safe work area and perform a variety of duties including grinding, de-burring, cleaning of parts, etc. This position must read work orders and drawings to locate cutting layout lines on stock, to determine dimensions and tolerances, and to determine metal to be cut, type of tool to be used, cutting speed, feed rate, table angle, and positions of table stops and guides. This position will accurately complete all paper work associated with work orders as well as performing other tasks as assigned in support of machine shop management.

This individual will have a thorough understanding of all aspects of industrial fabrication & machining and must be proficient with the products and services offered by Beitzel Corporation and must be flexible and willing to work extended hours as needed. The GibbsCAM Programmer/Operator will report to the Production Manager and will work primarily out of the Beitzel Machine Shop location in Grantsville, MD.

• Responsible for the layout, detail, and programming of customer drawings
• Capable of safely operating CNC Machining Equipment such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, etc.
• Possesses knowledge of machining functions including power button and all switches
• Capable of securing work pieces and operating stops and guides for proper alignment
• Must have knowledge of and experience with basic blueprints and drawings
• Able to use basic measure devices including a tape measure, calipers, micrometers, etc.
• Able to calibrate machining equipment to appropriate angles and cutbacks
• Must perform routine maintenance of all equipment associated with the operation of the CNC Machining Equipment.
• Must perform all necessary quality checks during production and follow procedures when defective parts are discovered.
• Demonstrates proficiency in reading and executing work orders and QA sheets
• Must have experience with a forklift and crane
• Must have knowledge of different metals, shapes, and sizes
• Must be capable of adjusting programs to machine parts and meet tolerance requirements
• Must be able to monitor and adjust speed and feed rates

• Preferred candidates will possess a high school diploma or GED, a minimum of 1 year of CNC programming experience and general knowledge of worksite safety and machining operations
• Experience with CAD and GibbsCAM software
• Proven ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing 
• Possesses basic computer skills including proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite
• Must be dependable, trustworthy, possess a positive attitude, and be willing to work independently or in a team environment
• Willing and able to work a flexible schedule that may include extended work hours and occasional weekends  
• Must possess excellent math skills including adding, subtracting, decimals and fractions
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
• Must be able to work independently, follow instructions, multi-task while maintaining a clean work area
• Must possess a proven history of Safe Practices and Safety Awareness
