Beitzel Corporation is now accepting applications for (1) full-time Oilfield RoustaboutThe Oilfield Roustabout will assist a team in conducting the rig up/rig down, rig wash and general rig move based operations, as well as other functions indicated by management for call-out on a designated rig assignment originating out of Field Services.  The Oilfield Roustabout must be available for scheduled rig moves, on-call, and after-hours. Days off must be scheduled by employee request. 

The Oilfield Roustabout will report to the Rig Services Group Manager and will work on location as assigned by Rig Services Management at the Beitzel Corporate location.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare T&M tickets, receipts, and other paper work as required by the rig
  • Complete supervisory training
  • Perform the day to day activities assigned by the customer and rig personnel and ensure that all required inspections, rig-up/ rig-down, rig wash, and emergency situations are resolved in a timely and efficient manner
  • Assist Field Supervisors in the rig-up and rig-down process
  • Serve as a point of contact between rig personnel and Beitzel Corporation during the assigned hitch
  • Identify issues and concerns from the field and ensure that a positive relationship exists between the Beitzel field staff, the rig, and Division Management
  • Alert Division Management of non-routine issues and repairs or issues that cannot be resolved in the field or that would jeopardize the operations ability to continue drilling
  • Assist in coordinating maintenance, repairs, and additional work with the customer, and Division Management
  • Aid other field personnel as needed
  • Provide daily operations updates to Operations Management
  • Work a scheduled hitch on an assigned rig, as well as be available 24/7 for call out work and extended hours
  • Duties will vary but may include training and basic operation in the following areas: moving trucks, unloading trucks, operating heavy machinery (telehandler, excavator, skid-steer, forklift, handtools, etc.), operating The Mudster, cleaning equipment, patching containment, confined space watch, and other duties as assigned by the customer

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • A minimum of one (1) year of Oil and Gas Services and Excavation Services experience or equivalent/relevant education and experience preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Oil and Gas Services and Excavation Services is preferred
  • Reliable transportation
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations accurately. Practical knowledge of office procedures and customer relations
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Skill in dealing with the public in a manner which will facilitate any constructive problem solving possible
  • Ability to work under stress and handle stressful situations. Ability to meet deadlines
  • This position is subject to the Beitzel Corporation Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy which includes: pre-employment testing, post-accident testing, reasonable suspicion testing, return to duty testing, and follow-up testing

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excavation experience preferred but not required
  • Prior experience operating telehandler, forklift, man-lift and skid steers
  • Trade or technical training in heavy equipment, industrial trades, construction trades or mechanical trades
  • Rigging, lifting and signaling training or experience
  • CDL Class A with hazmat endorsement
  • SafeLand, PEC Confined Space, OSHA 10 and/or MSHA surface training

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  1. Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment
  2. This position requires the completion of a thorough background check including employment and education verification, SSN eVerify, employment references, and pre-employment drug screening. In accordance with our Organization’s Drug and Alcohol policy employees are required to participate in random, post-accident and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing.
