Beitzel Corporation is now accepting applications for (1) full-time Apprentice Electrician. The Apprentice Electrician will participate in the installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of electrical components and applications ranging from low to high voltage. Such applications include, but are not limited to:  Industrial Construction, Manufacturing, Power Plants, Commercial, Aggregate, Oil and Gas, Factories, Plants, Solar, Coal, Wind Energy, Commercial, Residential, etc. This position will require a flexible schedule that includes extensive travel and out-of-town work and must be willing to work extended hours to include weekends, holidays and evenings.

The Apprentice Electrician will report to the Field Services Group located in Grantsville, MD.

Responsibilities

  • Provide physical labor and general labor to electrical trades and to various construction and industrial projects
  • Assist in electrical installs, repairs, trouble shooting, and general labor as required.
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
  • Provide detailed paperwork, and documentation to ensure accurate record keeping, billing and inventory
  • Maintain company tools, equipment and vehicles in a professional and workman-like manner
  • Provide support for Master/Journeyman Electricians
  • Follow proper safety and incident reporting procedures
  • In addition, may perform all duties of General Laborer, Skilled Laborer, and possibly Carpenter
  • Assist with troubleshooting to follow a problem to the source and solve the issue
  • Aid other field personnel as needed
  • Be willing to work on the off hitch and demonstrate commitment to the job

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • A minimum of (1-3) years of electrical experience or equivalent/relevant education and experience preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Industrial Electrical Services is preferred
  • Apprentice license is required
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations accurately. Practical knowledge of office procedures and customer relations
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Skill in dealing with the public in a manner which will facilitate any constructive problem solving possible
  • Ability to work under stress and handle stressful situations. Ability to meet deadlines
  • This position is subject to the Beitzel Corporation Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy which includes: pre-employment testing, post-accident testing, reasonable suspicion testing, return to duty testing, and follow-up testing

  4. Required safety equipment:  Metatarsal boots, ARC flash rated clothing, protective eye wear, gloves, hard hat, and hearing protection

 

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  1. Must possess a valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment
  2. This position requires the completion of a thorough background and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
