Beitzel Corporation is now accepting applications for (1) full-time Project Manager for Concrete.  The general role is to support leadership to staff within an assigned Group originating out of the Field Services Division.  The Project Manager must be available after-hours and weekends to answer calls from customers and Beitzel employees. The Project Manager must have a thorough understanding of all aspects of the Concrete Services Group and must be proficient with the products, services, and equipment required to be an industry leader.

This individual will have a thorough understanding of all aspects of industrial concrete and must be proficient with the products and services offered by Beitzel Corporation and must be flexible and willing to work extended work hours, travel with minimal overnight work.

 

The Project Manager will report to the Concrete Services Group Manager and will work primarily out of the Beitzel Corporate location.

Responsibilities

  • Communicating personnel, equipment and supply needs to the Concrete Services Group Manager and participate in the hiring process of staff
  • Attend Bi-weekly Group management meetings and disseminate the information to all office personnel, as required
  • Prepare quotes and assist the Contract Management team in reviewing all departmental quotes over $50,000 and ensuring that every Group quote over $150,000 is reviewed by Vice President of Projects / Vice President of Contracts (quotes with unique or excessive risk of less value than $150,000 or instances where rate changes or mark-up changes are requested must also be reviewed and approved by a Vice President or above)
  • Upon receipt of order, coordinating with the Administrative Services Group Manager for work orders and job numbers
  • Reviewing and completing work in progress reports and coordinating and reviewing the billing processes with the Administrative Services Group Manager 
  • Supervise the review of T&M tickets, receipts, and other paper work from the Field staff and ensure accuracy
  • In conjunction with the Contracts Management team, organize and manage weekly operations updates for the Vice President of Projects / Vice President of Contracts and serve as the primary responsible party for communicating issues and changes to Division Management
  • Creating, auditing and evaluating job costing reports
  • In conjunction with Division Management, managing acceptable inventory levels and scheduling material purchases according to market needs and trends
  • Serve as a point of contact between the foreman and Beitzel Corporation Management
  • Experience with structural steel, carpentry, electrical, pipefitting, millwright, or other industrial disciplines preferred 
  • Conduct field audits and reviews to identify any potential issues and suggest resolution
  • Aid other management personnel as needed

Qualifications

  • Degree or Certification and a minimum of five (5) years of Concrete Services experience or equivalent/relevant education and experience
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Concrete Services
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations accurately
  • Practical knowledge of office procedures and customer relations
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Skill in dealing with the public in a manner which will facilitate any constructive problem solving possible
  • Working knowledge of personal computers and software packages including specific knowledge of ProContractor, MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to work under stress and handle stressful situations and ability to meet deadlines
  • This position is subject to the Beitzel Corporation Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy which includes: pre-employment testing, post-accident testing, reasonable suspicion testing, return to duty testing, and follow-up testing

 

 Working Conditions:

  • Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to include overtime as needed
  • Position involves considerable travel with occasional overnight/out-of-town travel
  • Must be safety and customer-focused without exception
  • Flexible and motivated to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment
  • Must be willing to work in harsh weather conditions as needed

 

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  1. Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment.
  2. This position requires the completion of a thorough background check including employment and education verification, SSN eVerify, employment references, and pre-employment drug screening.
