    Beitzel Corporation is now accepting applications for a full-time Field Safety Representative.  The Field Safety Representative will be responsible for encouraging and facilitating the safe practices of Field Service personnel at various Beitzel Corporation's job locations.  This position will require a flexible schedule that will include extended work hours, travel, along with some weekend and emergency call-out work. The successful candidate will possess a minimum of 5 years of large project experience in a construction safety environment and a Bachelor's degree in safety or a related technical field, and/or a CHST designation. 

     

    The Field Safety Representative will report to the Director of Environmental Health, Safety & Regulatory Compliance.  This positon will work out of the Beitzel Corporate Offices located in Grantsville, Maryland.

    Responsibilities

    • Deliver safety performance results for Beitzel Corporation and Customers
    • Lead by example and Foster an atmosphere of teamwork, integrity and respect for others
    • Believe and support a safety culture with the purpose of obtaining “Absolute Zero” incidents
    • Commitment to continuous improvement, seek ways to help improve team work as well as work processes
    • Submit all necessary paperwork into company and customers representatives in a timely manner
    • Ensure compliance with Beitzel Corporation and Customer policies & procedures
    • Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations
    • Ensures the safe use of fall protection, Lock Out/Tag Out, arc flash, electrical, cranes, rigging and commissioning
    • Immediate reporting of all incidents to the Director of Safety, Environmental Health and Regulatory Compliance
    • Ensure Beitzel Corporations and Customer Health and Safety policies and procedures are followed by all employees and sub-contractors
    • Ensure all employees are safety qualified specific to perform tasks prior to starting job
    • Clear job safety plans that are appropriate for the size and complexity of job
    • Identify safety concerns on the job site and create/communicate a plan to avoid incidents
    • Performs timely and accurate completion of daily site visits
    • Provides a written evaluation of all confined spaces and work performed in both permit and non-permit confined spaces
    • Address all safety issues with Beitzel Corporation employees, sub-contractors and customers to assure successful resolution
    • Day to day oversight of team activities and safety related paperwork
    • Keep Management team up to date on safety status/progress 

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in safety or related technical field with a miniumum of (5) years of large project experience in construction safety environment, or;
    • A minimum of (5) years of large project experience in construction safety environment and completion of OSHA 500 Training Course, or;
    • A CHST designation with a minimum of (4) years in a construction safety environment
    • Must possess an OSHA 10 card within the last 48 months
    • Prior experience operating telehandler, forklift, man-lift and skid steers
    • Rigging, lifting and signaling training or experience

    Additional Eligibility Qualifications

    1. Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment
    2. This position requires the completion of a thorough background check including employment and education verification, SSN eVerify, employment references, and pre-employment drug screening. In accordance with our Organization’s Drug and Alcohol policy employees are required to participate in random, post-accident and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing.

    2. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds unassisted
    3. Must be safety and customer-focused, without exception
    4. Required safety equipment: Steel toe and/or metatarsal shoes, protective eye wear, gloves, hard hat, and hearing protection
