Beitzel Corporation is now accepting applications for a full-time Director of Environmental Health, Safety & Regulatory Compliance. The Director of Environmental Health, Safety & Regulatory Compliance will answer directly to the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for leadership through the development, supervision, and execution of regulatory environmental, health and safety (EHS) management systems and processes to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and agencies. This position is responsible for the Company’s continuous EHS improvement and for ensuring compliance with all Federal, State, Local and Customer Regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Safety and Compliance operations and staff to ensure that EHS vision, goals and strategies are effectively communicated and executed throughout all areas and operations of the company
  • Ensure emergency-response systems, policies and procedures are in place to manage emergency situations and to provide safety and compliance support on a continuous (24/7) basis
  • Monitor and audit the company-wide DOT program to ensure compliance and safety
  • Audit driver qualification files, driving program, driving violations, company-standing and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) compliance
  • Manage and direct the Company Drug and Alcohol Compliance Program and  serve as the Designated Employee Representative (DER)
  • Coordinate company-safety and compliance programs, training, licensing and initiatives to include but not limited to: MSHA, SafeLand, OSHA, MEA OQ
  • Direct accident and incident investigations and documentation, insurance reporting and coordination of post-accident /incident drug and alcohol screenings
  • Lead and direct administrative processes to ensure compliance with Compliance Programs such as: ISnetworld, Avetta, BROWZ, Veriforce, MEA, MSHA, etc.
  • Develop, edit and implement company-safety programs and manuals, along with job-specific safety manual development
  • Manage subcontractor management plan and determine eligibility and approvals
  • Track and report accident, incident, and industry trends and implement corrective and preventive programs and actions in accordance with Company goals and objectives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Safety, Health, Environment or Compliance or a combination of related certifications, education and experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of regulatory compliance and occupational safety experience
  • Previous experience in energy industry safety and compliance preferred but not required
  • Previous supervisory and management experience required
  • Proven history of professional and discrete handling of emergency situations, as well as difficult, sensitive and high-profile situations
  • Ability to work independently and/or in a team environment
  • Proficient in organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) and to represent the Company in a professional and  competent manner
  • Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams to accomplish common goals
  • Must be able to effectively adapt to ever-changing and ever-emerging needs of the organization

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to sit/stand for long periods of time
  • Must adhere and follow all health, safety and environmental standards

 

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  1. Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment.
  2. This position requires the completion of a thorough background check including employment and education verification, SSN eVerify, employment references, and pre-employment drug screening. In accordance with our Organization’s Drug and Alcohol policy employees are required to participate in random, post-accident and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing.
