    Beitzel Corporation is now accepting applications for a full-time Shop Welder Fabricator/Steel.  The Shop Welder Fabricator/Steel will utilize various welding techniques to weld and fabricate metal components as specified by blueprints, work orders, and/or oral instructions.  Duties include the use and maintenance of related shop equipment for welding.

    The Shop Welder Fabricator position will work out of the Bittinger and/or Grantsville fabrication shops.  Occasional field work may be required.  This position will report directly to the Shop Foreman.    

    Responsibilities

    • Lay-out, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications using various measuring devices such as straightedge,       combination square, calipers, micrometers, gages, tape measures, etc. to ensure fabrications conform to quality standards.
    • Certification ability for ASME and AWS D1.1
    • Tack-weld or weld components and assemblies, using MIG welding equipment
    • Perform structural welding using a variety of procedures, such as the groove weld, fillet weld complete joint penetration, and partial joint penetration, position 1G-2G-3G-4G
    • Welds components in flat, vertical or overhead positions
    • Cuts materials, use of acetylene torches and grinder
    • Ignites and operates oxy/acetylene and plasma torches and adjusts valves, amperage, or voltage to obtain desired flame or arc
    • Exercise proper care, maintenance and operation of company equipment
    • Adhere to all Company Safety Policies
    • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required

    Qualifications

    • Must have a minimum of 2 years of welding and fabrication experience
    • Must be AWS certified – successful completion of weld test required prior to employment
    • Proficient in SMAW (Stick), GMAW (MIG) and GTAW (TIG) Basic knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of metal fabrications or other structures
    • Basic knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of metal fabrications or other structures
    • Proficient in use of sheer and brake machines, burn out tables, plasma cutter and torch cutting
    • Mechanical skills and aptitude a must
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
    • Willing and able to work a flexible schedule as needed to including weekends and extended hours
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
    • Team-oriented and able to work effectively and efficiently with others

     

    Preferred Qualifications: 

    • 2+ years of industrial metal shop fabrication experience
    • Multiple, complementary heavy construction skills or certifications; Concrete, Masonry, Electrical, Rigging, Plumbing Experience
    • Experience in the energy and industrial construction industries
    • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A
    • Certified in SafeLand, OSHA 10 and/or MSHA surface training

    Working Conditions:

    • Ability to lift up to 80lbs unassisted
    • Must be safety and customer-focused, without exception
    • Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching and handling of materials.

     

    Additional Eligibility Qualifications

    1. Must possess a valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment
    2.
