Beitzel Corporation is now accepting applications for a full-time Project Manager/Commercial Construction.  The Project Manager/Commercial Construction  will quote, manage and direct all aspects of commercial construction to include but not be limited to: new construction, repairs and renovations, industrial buildings, hvac services, general services, building services, carpentry and all other commercial applications that support the services and operations of the Field Services Division of Beitzel Corporation.  Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: managing processes, personnel and resources to provide services, products and/or deliverables that are on-time; on-budget and that meet or exceed customer expectations. The Project Manager/Commercial Construction must possess the knowledge, experience and ability to identify value-added opportunities and services that meet the construction needs of developed customers.  The Project Manager/ Commercial Construction will also be responsible for identifying new customers to expand business opportunities for Beitzel Corporation. 

Candidates must be flexible and willing to work extended hours to include weekends, holidays, evenings and occasional overnight/out-of-town work as needed. 

 

Areas of operations include, but are not limited to:  MD, VA, OH, PA, WV and NJ.

 

The Commercial Construction Project Manager will work out of the Beitzel Corporate Office located in Grantsville, Maryland.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the quoting, planning and implementation of customer projects and initiatives
  • Provide development and oversight of project scope, goals, scheduling, budgets, risk management and resource management
  • Develop project plans, time lines, material coordination, job sequencing and labor requirements
  • Serve as the primary contact for assigned customers and cultivate customer relations and identify expanded business opportunities
  • Manage and supervise project team members through effective coaching and supervision – typically lead teams of between 3 to 10 Field Construction Personnel
  • Provide management and fiscal reporting and updates as required
  • Identify potential problems and provide effective solutions and problem-resolution
  • Maintain quality and safety standards without exception
  • Perform related work as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering or Construction Management discipline required or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as a Project Manager in Industrial Construction, Energy, Aggregate or related industry preferred or an equivalent combination of field experience
  • Must possess the knowledge, experience and ability to make sound business decisions that result in value to the customer and growth for the company
  • Proficient in organizational skills with high level of attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to excel under pressure and meet budget and project deadlines
  • Possess computer skills that would include Microsoft Office programs to include Excel, Word and Power Point
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) and to represent Beitzel Corporation in a professional, competent and courteous manner
  • Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams to accomplish common goals
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to effectively adapt to ever-changing and ever-emerging customer needs
  • Preference to candidates with 5+ years of project management experience in Commercial Construction, Industrial Construction, Energy, Aggregate or Related Industries or an equivalent combination of field experience

 

Working Conditions:

 

  • Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to include overtime as needed
  • Position involves considerable travel with limited overnight/out-of-town travel
  • Must be safety and customer-focused without exception
  • Flexible and motivated to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment
  • Must be willing to work in harsh weather conditions as needed

 

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  1. Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment.
