    Beitzel Corporation is now accepting applications for a full-time Sandblast Operator/Laborer.  The Sandblast Operator/Laborer will utilize various hand and power tools to clean and prepare industrial equipment, machinery and structures for painting, delivery and/or installation. Techniques will be specified by work orders and/or oral instructions. Duties include the use and maintenance of related shop equipment for blasting.

    The Sandblast Operator/Laborer position will work out of the Bittinger and/or Grantsville fabrication shops. This position will report directly to the Shop Foreman.


    • Sand blast to remove surface contaminants from steel as directed according to project specifications required by our customers
    • Follow & review all safety operating procedures outlined by the Supervisor, Shop Foreman and safety manual while participating in company safety meetings to increase safety knowledge
    • Assists in erecting scaffolding, rigging, ladders, man and scissor lifts and other equipment as necessary in a manner consistent with safety codes
    • Duty of care to protect work area and equipment during operations
    • Operates, cares for, cleans and maintains all blasting equipment, tools, and work site daily
    • Communicates with the Supervisor and Shop Foreman regarding: project status/issues, time estimates/deadlines, logistics, safety concerns, materials required as well as specifications to complete a successful project
    • Assist in fabrication shop operations on an as needed basis
    • Operate forklifts


    • Preferred candidates will possess a minimum of 2 years of experience and general knowledge of worksite safety and surface preparation or relevant experience in the construction trades is a plus.
    • Proven ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing 
    • Must be dependable, trustworthy, possess a positive attitude, and be willing to work independently or in a team environment
    • Willing and able to work a flexible schedule that may include extended work hours and occasional weekends  
    • Must be a self-starter that can work independently with minimal supervision
    • Must possess a proven history of Safe Practices and Safety Awareness

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to:

    1. Regularly walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects and turn tools; reach and extend hands and arms; crawl, kneel and lay
    2. The employee will frequent lift, handle and maneuver parts and tools and occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds unassisted
    3. Must be safety and customer-focused, without exception
    4. Required safety equipment: Steel toe and/or metatarsal shoes, protective eye wear, hard hat, hearing protection, protective goggles, masks, face shields, welding gloves, etc.
    5. Work outside in harsh weather conditions

    1. Must possess a valid state driver’s license prior to employment
    2. This position requires the completion of a thorough background check including driving, employment and education verification, SSN eVerify, employment references, and pre-employment drug screening.
