Beitzel Corporation is now accepting applications for a full-time Electrical AssistantThe Electrical Assistant is an entry level position that will work with in conjunction with Electricians and Electrical Foreman to install, maintain, and repair various electrical components and applications ranging from low to high voltage.  Such applications may include but not be limited to industries such as   Construction, Manufacturing, Power Plants, Commercial, Aggregate, Oil and Gas, Factories, Plants, Coal, Wind Energy, etc. 

This position will require a flexible schedule that includes extensive travel and out-of-town work.  Candidates must be willing to work extended hours to include weekends, holidays and evenings.  Areas of operations include, but are not limited to:  MD, VA, PA, WV, OH and NJ

The Electrical Assistant will work out of the Field Services Shop located in Grantsville, MD. 

Responsibilities

  • Assist Electricians and Electrical Foreman with installing and maintaining electrical and power systems
  • Install lighting, electrical outlets and circuit breakers
  • Run a variety of styles and sizes of conduit to electrical devices
  • Pull wire to connection boxes, switch panels and other terminals
  • Load and unload tools, supplies, equipment, etc.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and electrical equipment pertinent to the electrical trade
  • Assist with paperwork and documentation to ensure accurate record keeping, billing and inventory
  • Maintain company tools, equipment and vehicles in a professional and workman-like manner
  • Assist in other areas of the company and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma and 1+ years of electrical experience – preference will be granted to candidates with trade school electrical certifications    
  • Possess basic knowledge of electrical theory and AC and DC circuits
  • Knowledge and ability to identify and utilize hand and power tools typically utilized in the electrical trade  
  • Willing and able to work a flexible schedule that include travel, out-of-town work, weekends, extended hours and call-out work
  • Must be dependable; trustworthy; and possess a positive and productive attitude
  • Must be able to work well with co-workers and customers

  3. Must be safety and customer-focused, without exception
  4. Required safety equipment: Steel toe and/or metatarsal boots, protective eye wear, gloves, hard hat, and hearing protection

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

  1. Must possess a valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment
  2. This position requires the completion of a thorough pre-employment background check including employment, education SSN verifications, employment references, and pre-employment drug and alcohol screenings.
